Frequently asked questions
Osteopathy complementary medicine that focuses on mobilisation of the musculoskeletal system to promote healing and improve overall health.
An osteopathic consultation begins with a full medical case history, the practitioner then will typically perform a physical examination, including assessing your range of motion and identifying any areas of tension or discomfort. Following diagnosis, they will then use gentle osteopathic techniques to help restore balance and function to the affected areas.
While both osteopathy and chiropractic care focus on the manipulation of the musculoskeletal system, osteopathy treats whole body not just the spine, and uses a variety of different techniques for the soft tissues and joints. An osteopathic treatment typically lasts around 40 minutes.
